Microsoft has hidden a very useful Outlook Inbox Repair Tool
on your computer and you may have never seen it.
The SCANPST.EXE program analyzes your POST OFFICE
file and fixes any damage to your inbox, folders or address books.

Now, you may be thinking, why did we find the PST data file first?
When you create a Desktop shortcut for SCANPST.EXE, and then run SCANPST.EXE,
you will be prompted for the location of your PST file.
Simply click the Browse button or copy/paste the PST file's location from
the search window in the First Step above.

When finished, SCANPST display any fixes and the file status.

As you can see in the above graphic, its best to use Windows' Search tool to
find your PST file as it may be buried many levels down in a user folder.
